Ahnnet Copper Tap provides reliable and continuous traffic visibility for monitoring and security devices by enabling out-of-band access to network data. Designed to operate transparently within Ethernet links, it allows monitoring tools to receive a copy of traffic without affecting the original data flow between network devices.

Unlike fiber taps, copper taps require minimal power to support signal regeneration and stable link negotiation, ensuring consistent operation across various network conditions. They maintain permanent access ports that do not interfere with live traffic, preserving link integrity while enabling accurate traffic capture.

By duplicating both transmit and receive data streams, copper taps deliver full-duplex visibility, allowing monitoring, security, and analytics systems to observe bidirectional traffic in real time. This ensures that no packets are missed and that analysis tools receive a complete and reliable view of network activity.

Additionally, copper taps are designed with fail-safe mechanisms such as bypass or link continuity features, which help maintain network connectivity even in the event of a device issue. This makes them well-suited for inline deployment in environments where maintaining uptime is critical, while still providing precise and dependable traffic monitoring for performance analysis and threat detection.
